Welcome

A little about me

Four years ago, I made the decision to reinvent myself. I diverted from the path laid before me to explore living for passion and purpose instead. So, I became a writer. And although it came at a cost, it was well worth it.

I was stuck in the same loop for years. Without a mentor or a guide, my approach was raw and unconventional. I kept reinventing myself, starting over, over and over, exploring all the forms of writing it offered: novels, poetry, short stories, resumes and cover letters, articles, scripts, copywriting…I even dabbled with songs. I had a lot to learn, to teach myself, and it took time.

Yes, personal growth counts, the search for meaning, purpose, and peace, but none of these things pushed me to unlock my full potential. Until the day I said, “Fuck it.”

If I was going to do this, then I was going to do it my way. No more playing by the rules and following recipes. Succeed or fail, no matter how many times I have to start over, the only way this was going to happen was if I listened to one voice and one voice alone, mine.

And you know what. It worked.

Why a campsite

01

My mind is a traveler

Life is an adventure, my road is less traveled, my path is uncharted, and my method is that of discovery. Untethered and free to roam and explore. Settling down whenever I find a place I like, knowing that my stay is temporary. Every path offers something unknown and unpredictable; the venture is natural and intuitive, risky and dangerous, but invigorating. My mind is a traveler tethered only to my soul.

02

Fire

The warmth amidst the cold. The light amidst the darkness. The crackle in the silence. There’s nothing like the smell of burning oak, calming and sweet. Fire is weightless and free. If left unchecked, it’s unstoppable. If stoked, it can blaze forever. The most delicate of elements. The sun is fire, and fire is life. Fire is heat, it is passion, it is the feeling of safety. The fire within. One that can be reignited one strike against the flint after the other, one failed attempt after the other. What burns out can be lit again.

03

Howling to the moon

My people are travelers. We meet by riverbanks, mountain tops, and unlikely places. We exchange stories and advice. We extend a helping hand and accept a hand that is offered because we know how cruel nature can be. We understand one another. We know that sometimes to get to where you want go is to escort someone to where they want to be. We walk together until we part ways and hope we meet again. We love freedom above anything else. Freedom of thought and spirit. And we want others to have it.

So, I’m raising a flag. Firing a flare. Transmitting a signal.
